My name is Ukyung Nam and I'm a 10th grader at Deerfield Academy. I'm an avid reader, writer, and actor. In my free time you can find me singing with my sister or taking a walk at the beach. 
I'm a Junior Reporter at the Korea Herald, the only Korean-English newspaper in South Korea. I've recently received an Honorable Mention from the New York Times' 7th Annual Student Editorial Contest. 
I am the scriptwriter and co-director for a musical involving students who have defected from North Korea. I've also been involved in multiple musicals and plays, during the most recent of which I assumed a leading role.
